Planning the Future of the Past
APD Preservation is a woman-owned, small business that provides a full spectrum of cultural resource management services to individuals, organizations, governments, and corporate clients. The firm specializes in architectural documentation, historic preservation planning and CEQA compliance management relative to historic resources.
Services include historic resource evaluations, determinations of eligibility for the California Register and National Register of Historic Places, historic context statements, historic resource surveys, and historic structure reports.
With a focus on preservation planning and cultural resource compliance, APD Preservation works with clients to develop projects that take into consideration their impacts on historic resources and their surrounding communities.
Trained as an architectural historian and historic preservation planner, Alice specializes in evaluation, recordation and inventory of historic resources, and provides consulting services to satisfy National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) Section 106 and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) compliance requirements. Architects, contractors, and home owners retain her when they have a vision for their property and can’t wait months or years of trying to navigate the complex business of city planning and environmental compliance.
“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Alice Duffee on a number of projects and in different capacities. We served together on the board of the Sonoma League for Historic Preservation, and Alice has assisted me in client matters as a consultant and potential expert witness. Her research and writing skills are outstanding, and she’s an effective presenter at public hearings. Alice is a noted and respected authority on historic designation and preservation matters and is a tremendous resource.”~Michael Woods
