Historic Documentation & Interpretation

Per the conditions of approval established in a “Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR)” for the redevelopment of the “815 B Street Project” in downtown San Rafael, the owners of the property hired Alice to photo-document the two Victorian houses on the site and to design a commemorative panel to be incorporated into the new structures proposed for the site.

Alice used digital photography to document the interiors and exteriors of the two structures to “Historic American Building Survey (HABS)” standards, with special attention given to those  architectural features and design elements that defined the historic character of the two buildings. The photographs were professionally edited to maximize their quality and information value and were delivered on 8”x10” archivally stable paper. For the interpretive plaque, Alice used a prior “Historic Resource Report,” the DEIR and historical maps and photographs
